A warm and quiet start to March across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. Today we’ll see clouds early, then increasing sunshine by this afternoon. Highs climb into the lower 80s with a steady south breeze at 10 to 15 mph. A stray shower can’t be ruled out north of DFW, but most of us stay dry.

Tonight will be mild and partly cloudy with lows settling into the upper 50s. South winds ease a bit overnight.

Monday looks very similar — mostly sunny and warm with afternoon highs again near 80 degrees. Southerly winds continue, helping temperatures trend even warmer into Tuesday when highs reach the mid 80s.

By midweek, rain chances return. Scattered showers and thunderstorms develop Wednesday morning, becoming more widespread Wednesday afternoon and night. Rain chances remain elevated into Thursday and again Friday, with several rounds of showers and storms possible through Saturday.

While severe weather is not certain, periods of heavy rain and lightning could impact travel in the second half of the week.

Monday looks just as nice. Expect plenty of sunshine with afternoon highs right around 80 degrees in Dallas and Fort Worth. Winds stay light out of the south, and we’ll hold onto that mild pattern Monday night with lows in the lower 60s.

By Tuesday, the warming trend continues. Highs climb into the mid 80s with a stronger south breeze developing in the afternoon. Clouds will begin to increase Tuesday night, setting the stage for a more unsettled stretch.

Rain and storm chances return Wednesday, especially during the afternoon and evening hours. Showers become likely at times through Friday, with several rounds of rain and embedded thunderstorms. While severe weather is not certain, periods of heavy rain and lightning could impact commutes late week. Temperatures stay in the 80s through Friday, then cool into the 70s next weekend as rain continues.

Plan for wet roads and occasional thunderstorms Wednesday through Saturday.

Sunday looks very similar to today. We’ll start with a mix of sun and clouds before clearing out by afternoon. Highs will return to the lower 80s with a steady south breeze at 10 to 15 mph. If you have outdoor plans, the weather will cooperate.

Monday and Tuesday stay warm and spring-like. Highs hover near 80 Monday and climb into the mid 80s Tuesday with increasing cloud cover. A few isolated showers or a late-night thunderstorm can’t be ruled out Tuesday night.

Our next better rain chances arrive midweek. Scattered showers and thunderstorms become more likely Wednesday and Wednesday night, continuing at times through Thursday and Friday. Temperatures ease back into the upper 70s and lower 80s with periods of wet weather.

It will feel more like April at times, especially Saturday afternoon. A small chance for a few showers arrives late Sunday into Monday, followed by more cloud cover and slightly cooler temperatures in the 70s early next week. Rain chances remain low through Tuesday with no significant storm threats at this time.
