A strong thunderstorm is moving through parts of North Texas this evening and will affect northeastern Somervell, southwestern Johnson, northeastern Bosque, northwestern Hill, and southeastern Hood Counties through 6:30 PM. The storm is producing strong wind gusts, small hail, heavy rain, and frequent lightning.

**Timing:**
– Through 6:30 PM
– At 6:00 PM, the storm was near Blum, or 17 miles west of Hillsboro, moving south at 10 mph
– Lake Whitney around 6:05 PM
**What to Expect:**
– Winds in excess of 40 mph
– Penny-size hail
– Torrential rainfall
– Frequent cloud-to-ground lightning
**Potential Impacts:**
– Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs
– Unsecured objects may be blown around
– Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible
– Localized flooding may develop
– Lightning can strike up to 10 miles away from the storm
**What to Do Now:**
– If you are outdoors, consider moving inside a building
– Do not drive through flooded roadways
– Move to a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle if lightning is nearby
– If you are on or near Lake Whitney, get out of the water and move indoors or into a vehicle immediately
– Areas impacted include Lake Whitney, Eulogy, Rainbow, Kopperl, Retreat, Cedar Shores, Brazos Point, Lakeside Village, Nemo, and Lake Granbury
