Happy Friday, North Texas!

Get ready to soak up a gorgeous end to the workweek. Wall to wall sunshine and those classic deep blue Texas skies will dominate the day. Temperatures will climb quickly this afternoon, with highs soaring into the upper 70s to near 80 degrees across much of the region – easily the warmest day we’ve seen in a while.

This evening stays pleasant and comfortable. Temperatures will slowly ease out of the 60s and settle into the 50s by late evening, making it a great night to step out without the jacket overload.

A weak cold front slides through overnight. Don’t worry – no big chill behind it. Saturday will be just a touch cooler, with highs mainly in the 60s and 70s under mostly sunny skies.

The warm up returns in a big way for Super Bowl Sunday and carries into next week. Afternoon highs will consistently land in the 70s, with mild mornings and spring-like afternoons sticking around.

We’re still keeping an eye on our next rain chance early next week. A system moving in from the west will tap into some Pacific moisture, bringing a chance for scattered showers late Monday night into Tuesday. Rainfall looks light at this point, generally around a tenth to a quarter of an inch.
Enjoy the sunshine — it’s a great stretch of weather ahead for North Texas! -William
