Mild Today, Cooler Wednesday, Rain Chances Increase Late Week

Good Tuesday Morning, North Texas!

We’re in for another mild but mostly cloudy day across the region. While the majority of today stays dry, a few light showers can’t be ruled out from time to time. Better chances for scattered light showers arrive later this evening and continue into the overnight hours. Despite the clouds, temperatures will still run warm for February, with highs climbing into the mid to upper 70s and a few locations flirting with 80 degrees.

Rain chances increase slightly this evening and during the first part of tonight. Any rainfall will be light, with most locations picking up just a few hundredths of an inch, and isolated spots possibly reaching around a tenth of an inch.

A weak cold front slides through North Texas overnight. This won’t bring a sharp cool down, but it will trim temperatures a bit for Wednesday. Expect highs to settle back into the upper 60s to near 70, along with a mix of clouds and some sunshine.

The cooler air won’t stick around for long. Temperatures rebound quickly by Thursday and Friday, with highs once again approaching 80 degrees. Another weak cold front is expected to arrive during the early part of the weekend.

Looking ahead to rain chances, today’s showers remain spotty and light. A better opportunity for more widespread rainfall arrives late Friday into Saturday. Forecast data continues to suggest good coverage across North Texas, with many locations picking up between 0.50″ and 1.00″ of much needed rain. -William
