At 120 PM , Live Radar was tracking a strong T-Storm over Italy, or 15 miles south of Waxahachie, moving east at 40 mph.

Winds In Excess Of 30 Mph And Penny Size Hail. Gusty Winds Could Knock Down Tree Limbs And Blow Around Unsecured Objects. Minor Damage To Outdoor Objects Is Possible.

Severe Risk Today

Scattered T-Storms will be possible this morning into the afternoon as a dryline and cold front move across North Texas. Storm chances for the DFW Metroplex end just after Noon, but will linger in our eastern counties through late afternoon as the cold front pushes southeast. Hail and wind would be the primary concerns today. Severe hail up to the the size of half dollars and damaging wind gusts up to 60 MPH.

Clouds and the chance of scattered thunderstorms continues through about Noon in the Metroplex. Then a dryline sweeps through the area and the clouds clear with a dry (less humid) westerly wind developing. There may even be some suspended dust by late afternoon.

It’s a windy start to our Friday and winds will get even gustier this afternoon. So far this morning we are registering peak wind gusts around 30 MPH across North Texas with DFW Airport registering a 37 MPH gust across the runways.
