A clear and quiet night is ahead across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. Skies will stay clear with light south winds, and temperatures will fall into the mid to upper 60s by daybreak.
Sunday brings another sunny, warm afternoon with highs near 90 to the lower 90s. South winds will pick up a bit during the afternoon, but outdoor plans look good. The sunshine and warmth continue into Columbus Day, with highs close to 90.
The heat builds again Tuesday and Wednesday. Afternoon highs will reach the lower to middle 90s, while humidity pushes heat index values near 105 degrees in parts of the Metroplex. Rain and storm chances return late Wednesday and continue Thursday, with scattered coverage possible around 40 to 50 percent. A cooler pattern follows, with highs falling into the upper 70s to around 80 by Friday.
Plan for summerlike heat Tuesday and Wednesday, then keep an eye on storm chances late Wednesday into Thursday.
