Rain will become widespread across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex tonight, with the steadiest and heaviest downpours most likely after midnight. A few thunderstorms are possible, but the bigger concern is repeated heavy rainfall. A Flood Watch remains in effect through Friday morning. Lows will stay muggy, mostly in the upper 60s to near 70.
Friday will remain cloudy, wet, and noticeably cooler. Showers will be likely through much of the day, with a few embedded storms possible. Highs will only reach the mid to upper 70s as north winds develop.
Rain chances continue Friday night and Saturday, with scattered showers lingering into Sunday. Conditions gradually improve Sunday afternoon, followed by a sunnier and drier stretch next week. Highs return to the low 80s Monday through Wednesday, with mornings cooling into the upper 50s and lower 60s.
Watch for ponding on roads and localized flooding tonight into Friday morning, especially in low-lying and poor-drainage areas.
