A clear and warm night is ahead across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, with temperatures slipping only into the upper 70s. South winds will remain light, and there is no rain in the forecast.
Sunday brings more sunshine and another very hot afternoon. Highs will reach near 100 degrees in Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Plano, Denton, and surrounding communities. Humidity will push the feels-like temperature into the 105 to 107 degree range, so outdoor plans will require plenty of water and shade.
The heat stays locked in for Labor Day and much of next week. Afternoon highs will hover near 100 degrees through Friday, while heat index values may climb as high as 110 degrees Tuesday through Thursday. Nights remain warm and muggy, generally in the mid to upper 70s. Rain chances remain very limited, with only a slight chance of a shower near the end of the week.
Limit strenuous afternoon activity, take frequent breaks, and never leave children or pets in a vehicle.
