Tonight will be warm and partly cloudy across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, with temperatures only slipping into the mid to upper 70s. An isolated shower or thunderstorm may linger into the evening, but most neighborhoods will stay dry.
Thursday brings another dangerously hot afternoon. Expect mostly sunny skies, highs near 100 to 101 degrees, and heat index values climbing to around 109 to 111. A stray afternoon shower is possible, but widespread rain is not expected. The Heat Advisory remains in effect through 8 PM Thursday, and an Ozone Action Day is also posted.
Friday stays sunny and hot, with highs in the upper 90s. The weekend into next week looks consistently dry and very hot, with afternoon temperatures near 100 each day and heat index readings often near 105 to 110.
Limit strenuous outdoor activity during the afternoon, drink plenty of water, and never leave children or pets in a vehicle.
