North Texas is heading into another dangerously hot afternoon. Expect plenty of sunshine across Dallas-Fort Worth, with temperatures climbing to 105 to 107 degrees. Light south to southwest winds will offer little relief, and heat index values may approach 108 degrees in parts of the Metroplex. An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect from noon through 9 PM, along with an Ozone Action Day.
Tonight stays mostly clear and very warm, with lows only falling into the lower 80s.
Monday brings more of the same, with sunny skies and highs near 106 to 107 degrees. The heat continues Tuesday, when heat index values could reach 110 to 111 degrees. There may be a slight chance for an isolated shower or thunderstorm Wednesday, but temperatures will still hover near 100.
Limit time outdoors during the afternoon, drink plenty of water, and check on vulnerable neighbors, children, and pets.
