The Metroplex will stay very hot through this evening, with the Extreme Heat Warning in effect until 8 PM. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible this evening, but most neighborhoods will remain dry. Skies turn partly cloudy overnight, with warm lows near 80 to the mid-80s.
Sunday brings another mostly sunny and dangerously hot day. Highs will climb to around 107 degrees in Dallas and Fort Worth, while afternoon heat index values approach 110. An Ozone Action Day is also in effect, so sensitive groups should limit prolonged outdoor activity.
The heat builds even further Monday and Tuesday, with highs around 108 to 110 and feels-like temperatures as high as 115. Small rain chances return Tuesday night through Thursday, but coverage looks limited and no widespread relief is expected. Temperatures ease slightly toward 100 by Friday and next weekend.
Heat remains the main concern. Limit afternoon time outdoors, drink plenty of water, and never leave children or pets in vehicles.
