Today’s DFW Forecast

Another dangerously hot day is ahead for the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. Expect plenty of sunshine with afternoon highs near 105 degrees, while heat index values climb between 110 and 113. The Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect through 8 PM, and outdoor plans should be limited during the peak heating of the afternoon. A stray shower or storm is possible mainly north and northeast of DFW, but most of the Metroplex will stay dry.

Tonight will remain mostly clear to partly cloudy, with little relief as temperatures only fall into the upper 70s and lower 80s.

Friday looks much the same: sunny, hot, and humid with highs near 105 to 106. There is a 20 percent chance for an isolated afternoon thunderstorm, but widespread rain is not expected. Heat index values may reach 112 to 115.

Heat safety is the main concern. Drink water often, take frequent breaks, and never leave children or pets in a vehicle.
