Today’s DFW Forecast

North Texas is in for another classic August day across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. Expect abundant sunshine, south winds at 10 to 15 mph, and afternoon highs near 101 in Dallas and 102 around Fort Worth. Humidity will push the heat index as high as 105 degrees, so outdoor plans will be most challenging from midday through early evening. Rain and storms are not expected.

Tonight stays mostly clear and warm, with temperatures only slipping into the upper 70s. A steady south breeze will continue, offering little relief after sunset.

Thursday brings more sunshine and another hot afternoon. Highs will top out near 100 to 101 degrees, with south winds increasing to 15 to 20 mph at times during the afternoon. The extended outlook remains hot and dry, with near-100-degree temperatures continuing into the weekend and early next week.

Limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day, drink plenty of water, and check on those most vulnerable to the heat.
