North Texas is settling into a long stretch of August heat, with no rain expected across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex today. Expect plenty of sunshine, a light south breeze, and afternoon highs near 100 degrees. A few suburbs may stay in the upper 90s, but Dallas and Fort Worth could reach 100 or slightly higher. Humidity will make it feel closer to 103 to 105 at times during the afternoon.
Tonight stays mainly clear and warm, with temperatures only falling into the upper 70s. A light south wind will continue.
Tuesday brings more sunshine and another very hot afternoon, with highs near 100 to 101 degrees. The heat builds further through midweek, with highs around 101 Wednesday and afternoon heat index values climbing into the 106 to 109 range. Most of the extended forecast remains dry, sunny, and hot.
Limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day, drink plenty of water, and check on pets and vulnerable neighbors.
