North Texas is in for another hot, sunny day across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. Afternoon highs will reach the upper 90s to near 100 degrees, with a light south breeze offering little relief. Rain is not expected in Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, or most surrounding communities today.
Tonight stays mostly clear and warm, with lows only falling into the upper 70s across the urban core. A few clouds may develop late, but outdoor plans should remain dry.
Saturday brings more sunshine and highs in the upper 90s. Most of the Metroplex will stay dry, although an isolated afternoon shower or thunderstorm cannot be ruled out east and northeast of Dallas, including parts of Collin, Rockwall, Kaufman, and Hunt counties. Coverage will be limited.
The bigger story is the extended heat. Heat index values may approach 105 this weekend and climb near 110 early next week. Limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest afternoon hours, drink plenty of water, and check on vulnerable neighbors and pets.
