North Texas is in for another hot, mainly dry summer day. Expect mostly sunny skies across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, with afternoon highs reaching the upper 90s. A light north breeze at 5 to 10 mph may offer a little relief at times, but it will still feel like a typical August afternoon. No rain or storms are expected in DFW today.
Tonight stays clear to mostly clear and warm, with temperatures settling into the lower to middle 70s by Sunday morning. North winds will remain light.
Sunday brings more sunshine and another round of upper 90s across Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, and the surrounding suburbs. The pattern turns even hotter early next week, with highs near or above 100 degrees beginning Monday and heat index values climbing toward 105 to 110 later in the week.
Plan outdoor activities early, take frequent breaks, and stay hydrated during the afternoon heat.
