A mostly clear and very warm night is ahead across Dallas-Fort Worth, with temperatures only slipping into the upper 70s to around 80. A light south breeze will continue, offering little relief from the lingering heat.
Tuesday will be another sunny, dangerous heat day. Highs will reach near 102 degrees across much of the Metroplex, while afternoon heat index values climb to around 109 degrees. The Heat Advisory remains in effect through 8 PM Tuesday, so outdoor plans should be adjusted around the hottest part of the day.
The heat holds on through the rest of the week, with highs near 100 to 103 each afternoon and muggy heat index values generally between 105 and 110. Friday could be especially oppressive in parts of North Texas. No rain or storm chances are in sight. A modest easing arrives late in the weekend, with highs in the upper 90s Sunday.
Limit strenuous outdoor activity, drink plenty of water, and check on vulnerable neighbors and pets.
