Another warm and quiet night is ahead across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex with mostly clear skies and lows holding near 80 degrees. A light south breeze will continue, so it won’t cool off much after sunset.
Friday looks very similar, with plenty of sunshine and another hot afternoon. Highs will reach the upper 90s, and it will feel a little hotter at times. Saturday stays mostly sunny and hot as well, with highs again in the upper 90s and heat index values pushing into the low 100s.
Our next better rain chance arrives late Saturday night into Sunday, first with a few spotty showers or storms after midnight, then a more noticeable chance for scattered rain and thunderstorms during the day Sunday. Rain chances continue Sunday night into Monday, and that should help trim temperatures back into the lower 90s early next week. By Tuesday and Wednesday, a few isolated afternoon storms may linger, but the overall trend looks a bit less active.
Plan for another couple of hot days, then keep an eye on Sunday and Monday for scattered storms and some locally heavy downpours.
