A few spotty showers and storms will remain possible across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex this evening, but coverage should fade after sunset with skies turning partly cloudy to mostly clear overnight. Temperatures will settle into the mid 70s by morning, so it will stay warm and a little muggy.
Tomorrow looks mostly sunny and very hot, with only a slim chance for an isolated afternoon storm. Highs will climb back into the upper 90s, and a few neighborhoods could flirt with 100 degrees by late day. That hotter trend continues Thursday through Saturday with highs near 100 and peak heat index values around 105, especially by the weekend.
Rain chances stay fairly low through Saturday, then begin to tick up late Saturday night into Sunday as a weak disturbance brings a better shot at scattered showers and thunderstorms. That should help trim temperatures a bit, with highs easing back into the lower to middle 90s Sunday and early next week. For now, widespread severe weather is not expected, but any weekend storm could still produce brief heavy rain and lightning.
The main impact through Saturday will be the heat, with dangerous afternoon values building heading into the weekend.
