North Texas stays quiet and summerlike through the start of the new week. For today, expect plenty of sunshine across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex with afternoon highs mostly in the mid to upper 90s. A steady south wind will pick up through the day, running around 15 to 20 mph with a few higher gusts at times.
Tonight will stay mostly clear, warm, and muggy with lows only falling into the upper 70s. The south breeze will continue overnight, so it won’t cool off much.
Tomorrow brings more of the same, but a little hotter. Highs will climb into the upper 90s with sunny skies and another gusty south wind during the afternoon. The hotter pattern continues through the week, with many spots nearing 100 by Thursday and Friday. Heat index values will also start pushing above 100 later this week, so the bigger concern is building heat rather than rain, with storm chances staying very low for the Metroplex.
Plan for a hot and increasingly humid stretch, especially later this week when the heat index may top 105.
