North Texas is in for a quiet, summer pattern across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Today will bring mostly sunny skies with afternoon highs in the mid 90s, along with a steady south breeze around 10 to 15 mph, occasionally a little stronger by late day.
Tonight stays warm and a bit muggy with a mostly clear evening, then a few more clouds drifting in overnight. Low temperatures will only fall into the upper 70s, so it will be another mild night without much relief from the heat.
Tomorrow looks very similar, with plenty of sunshine and highs again in the mid 90s. South winds will pick up a bit more during the afternoon, with gusts approaching 30 mph in some spots. Through the rest of the weekend and into early next week, the bigger story becomes building heat, with highs pushing the upper 90s to near 100 and heat index values climbing toward 105.
If you have outdoor plans, be ready for increasing heat and a breezy south wind this weekend, especially during the afternoon hours.
