A wetter, cooler-than-average start is in place across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex today. Expect mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers and a few thunderstorms, especially through the morning hours, then more isolated rain this afternoon. Highs should stay in the mid to upper 80s, with a few low 90s possible south of DFW.
Tonight stays warm and humid with mostly cloudy skies and a lingering chance for a few showers or thunderstorms. Lows will settle into the lower to middle 70s.
Tomorrow brings a little more sunshine, but we’re not completely done with the rain. Expect a partly to mostly sunny sky with another chance for scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Highs climb back to around 90, with lower 90s in some spots.
The bigger story heading into Sunday and early next week is the return of summer heat. Temperatures will push into the mid 90s with heat index values near 105 to 110.
If you have outdoor plans this weekend, keep an eye on the sky for brief rain and lightning today and Saturday, then be ready for increasing heat by Sunday.
