A quiet and warm night is ahead for Dallas-Fort Worth with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies and muggy conditions settling in. Overnight lows will only fall into the mid 70s, so it will stay a bit sticky through the late evening and early morning hours.
Wednesday looks mainly sunny and hotter, with afternoon highs in the lower 90s and a steady south wind picking up to around 10 to 15 mph. The bigger heat arrives Thursday, when highs climb into the upper 90s across the Metroplex. With the humidity, it may feel closer to 105 to 110 during the afternoon.
Rain chances begin to return late Thursday night and continue into Friday, including Juneteenth. The best shot for showers and thunderstorms looks to be after midnight Thursday into Friday morning, with scattered storms lingering at times into Saturday. A few rounds of rain could be locally heavy, but widespread severe weather does not appear to be the main concern right now. By Sunday and Monday, the rain becomes more isolated and the heat builds back in.
Plan for dangerous heat Thursday, then keep an eye on late week storm chances that could affect holiday travel and outdoor plans.
