A warm and humid night is ahead across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, with skies turning partly cloudy and temperatures only slipping to the upper 70s. Any spotty storms this evening should fade, so most of the night looks quiet.
Saturday brings the heat back in full force. Expect mostly sunny skies, a muggy breeze, and afternoon highs in the mid 90s. A Heat Advisory is in effect from noon to 9 PM, and it will feel even hotter at times. Most of the day stays dry, though a few areas north and west of DFW could see late-night showers or storms begin to develop.
The better chance for widespread rain arrives Sunday and Sunday night. Showers and thunderstorms become more likely through the day, with the heaviest rain potential developing later Sunday into overnight. Some neighborhoods could pick up heavy downpours, and temperatures will trend cooler by Monday with highs dropping into the upper 70s and lower 80s.
After that, rain tapers Tuesday, then summer heat builds again by mid to late week with highs back in the 90s and heat index values climbing.
Use caution in the heat Saturday, and be ready for pockets of heavy rain late Sunday into Monday.
