A Flood Advisory is in effect for parts of North Texas until 8:30 PM. Minor flooding is expected or may already be happening because of heavy rain from thunderstorms.
This advisory includes western Dallas County and eastern Tarrant County in North Texas.

**Timing:**
– In effect until 8:30 PM
– At 5:29 PM, Doppler radar showed heavy rain from thunderstorms
**What to Expect:**
– Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected
– Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have already fallen
– An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain are expected
– Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly
– Locations that may experience flooding include Dallas, Arlington, Irving, Grand Prairie, Carrollton, Mansfield, Euless, Bedford, Grapevine, Cedar Hill, Coppell, Duncanville, Hurst, Farmers Branch, Southlake, and Colleyville
**Potential Impacts:**
– Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas
– Water over roadways
– Ponding of water in urban and other areas is occurring or is imminent
**What to Do Now:**
– Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads
– Most flood deaths occur in vehicles
– Be aware of your surroundings
– Do not drive on flooded roads
