Today’s DFW Forecast

A fairly typical late-May setup continues across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex today, with a mix of clouds and some breaks of sun developing through the afternoon. Scattered showers and thunderstorms remain possible, especially at times through the day, with rain chances running around 40 to 50 percent. Most spots will not see rain all day, but a few neighborhoods could pick up a quick downpour. Highs stay on the cooler side for late May, mainly in the lower 80s.

Tonight, rain chances drop off but do not disappear completely. A stray shower or storm is still possible early, then skies turn partly cloudy with mild overnight lows in the upper 60s.

Tomorrow looks a bit warmer, with highs climbing into the mid 80s. We’ll still carry a chance for a few showers and thunderstorms, mainly from morning into the afternoon, before things gradually trend drier by Thursday night. Winds also shift northerly later in the day behind a weak boundary.

Brief downpours and lightning will be the main concerns with any storm, but widespread severe weather is not expected.
