A strong thunderstorm is affecting parts of North Texas through 6:00 PM. The storm is producing winds over 40 mph, penny-size hail, heavy rain, and frequent lightning.

– Issued at 5:34 PM
– Impact expected through 6:00 PM

**What to Expect:**
– A strong thunderstorm was near Laguna Park, or 13 miles east of Clifton, at 5:34 PM
– Moving south at 10 mph
– Areas impacted include east central Hamilton, northwestern McLennan, northeastern Coryell, southern Bosque, and southwestern Hill Counties
– Locations include Cayote, Rock Creek, Cedar Shores, Hurst Springs, Womack, Lakewood Harbor, Osage, Gholson, Aquilla, and Norse
– Hazards include winds in excess of 40 mph and penny-size hail
– Torrential rainfall is also occurring
– Frequent cloud-to-ground lightning is occurring

**Potential Impacts:**
– Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects
– Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible
– Localized flooding may develop
– Lightning can strike up to 10 miles away from the storm

**What to Do Now:**
– If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building
– Do not drive through flooded roadways
– Seek safe shelter inside a building or vehicle if lightning is nearby
– If on or near Lake Whitney, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle
– If you can hear thunder, move to safe shelter now
