A few showers or thunderstorms may drift into parts of the Metroplex tonight, mainly later this evening through overnight, but coverage should stay scattered. Most neighborhoods will just see increasing clouds with mild lows in the mid 60s.
Saturday looks like the quieter and warmer day of the weekend. We’ll turn mostly sunny with afternoon highs climbing into the mid 80s, and winds stay light. If you have outdoor plans, this is the better day to use.
Sunday is the day to watch. Rain and thunderstorms become much more likely, especially from late morning into the afternoon and evening. A few downpours could be heavy at times, mainly on the western side of North Texas, and temperatures will fall back through the 70s as rain moves in. Storms don’t look widespread severe right now, but lightning and locally heavy rain will be the main concerns.
By Monday, skies clear out and cooler air settles in with highs in the upper 70s. Sunshine then takes over Tuesday through Thursday, with a warming trend back into the upper 80s and near 90 by midweek.
Plan for a wetter Sunday with occasional heavy rain and lightning possible.
