Showers will taper off across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex this evening, with only a few lingering light showers possible before skies gradually clear overnight. It will be a chilly night for early May, with lows falling into the upper 40s to lower 50s by daybreak.
Tomorrow looks like a big turnaround. Sunshine returns, winds stay light out of the north, and afternoon temperatures recover into the mid 70s. Saturday night will be clear and cool again, followed by a pleasant Sunday with plenty of sun and highs near 80.
Early next week, the warming trend continues. Highs climb into the low 80s Monday and then the upper 80s by Tuesday as clouds begin to increase again. Our next rain chance arrives late Tuesday night into Wednesday, when scattered showers and a few thunderstorms could return. Right now, the storm threat for North Texas looks limited, but a brief round of rain could affect the Wednesday morning commute before cooler air settles in for the second half of the week.
