A few lingering showers and isolated thunderstorms may affect parts of the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex tonight, especially south and east of the core urban area. Rain coverage will be spotty, but a brief downpour and lightning could interrupt evening plans. Otherwise, expect mostly cloudy and humid conditions with lows in the lower to middle 70s.
Friday starts with a few clouds and perhaps an isolated morning shower, then turns mostly sunny and hotter. Highs reach the mid 90s, with heat index values climbing near 105 to 106 during the afternoon.
The heat really takes control this holiday weekend. Expect plenty of sun Saturday through Labor Day, with highs in the upper 90s to near 100. Afternoon feels-like temperatures will commonly approach 108 to 110. A small chance of an afternoon storm returns Tuesday, but most areas stay dry.
Plan outdoor activities early, take frequent breaks, and stay hydrated during the afternoon heat.
