Tonight will stay mostly clear and very warm across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with temperatures only falling into the lower 80s. The Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect through 9 PM, so use extra caution with any evening plans.
Wednesday brings another dangerously hot afternoon. Expect mostly sunny skies, highs from 101 to 104, and heat index values near 105 to 107. A few isolated showers or thunderstorms could develop during the afternoon, but most locations will remain dry. A small rain chance continues late Wednesday night as a weak north wind brings slightly less oppressive air.
Thursday through Friday will be a touch cooler, though still hot, with highs in the upper 90s to near 100. Rain chances remain low. The weekend into early next week turns mostly sunny and hot again, with highs around 100 and afternoon heat index values occasionally near 110.
Limit strenuous outdoor activity during the afternoon, drink plenty of water, and check on vulnerable neighbors and pets.
