Dallas-Fort Worth will be under an Extreme Heat Warning through 8 PM today, with plenty of sunshine and dangerously hot afternoon temperatures. Highs will reach 104 to 106 degrees across the Metroplex, while heat index values climb near 108 to 111. A stray shower or thunderstorm cannot be ruled out late this afternoon, but most neighborhoods will stay dry.
Tonight remains very warm and partly cloudy, with lows near 80 degrees. There is a small chance for an isolated shower or storm during the evening, mainly before midnight.
Saturday brings more of the same: mostly sunny skies, highs around 105 to 106, and heat index values near 110 or higher. The extended forecast keeps triple-digit heat in place through early next week, with only a slight dip toward 100 by Wednesday.
Limit outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day, drink plenty of water, and never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle.
