A quiet but very warm night is ahead across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. Skies will remain mostly clear, with south winds around 5 to 10 mph and overnight lows settling into the upper 70s.
Monday brings another full day of sunshine and intense August heat. Highs will reach the upper 90s to near 100 degrees from Dallas and Fort Worth to Denton, Plano, Arlington, and the southern suburbs. Rain is not expected, and a light south breeze will offer little relief during the afternoon.
The dry, hot pattern holds through the rest of the week and into next weekend. Afternoon temperatures will generally run from the upper 90s to near 100, while overnight lows stay in the upper 70s. By Wednesday and beyond, humidity will push afternoon heat index values as high as 105 to 110 degrees at times.
Limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day, drink plenty of water, and check on vulnerable neighbors and pets.
