Tonight will be quiet across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, with mostly clear skies, a light south breeze, and warm overnight lows holding in the upper 70s.
Friday brings another full day of sunshine and intense August heat. Afternoon temperatures will reach the upper 90s to near 100 degrees across Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Plano, Denton, and surrounding communities. A stray evening storm cannot be ruled out north and northeast of the Metroplex, but most neighborhoods will stay dry.
The weekend remains sunny and hot, with highs in the upper 90s and little relief overnight. Heat index values could reach 105 degrees by Saturday, then climb closer to 110 Monday through Wednesday as humidity increases. Rain chances remain very limited, so the dry stretch continues.
Plan outdoor activities early or late in the day, drink plenty of water, and never leave children or pets in parked vehicles.
