North Texas is set for another intensely hot day across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. Expect plenty of sunshine with afternoon highs near 101 to 102 degrees from Dallas and Fort Worth to Denton, Plano, Arlington, and surrounding communities. Light south to southwest winds will offer little relief, while heat index values climb as high as 108 this afternoon. A Heat Advisory remains in effect through 8 PM.
Tonight stays mostly clear and warm, with temperatures only falling into the upper 70s to around 80 degrees. Tuesday brings more sunshine and nearly identical heat, with highs again near 102 and heat index values up to 106.
The extended outlook stays dry and very hot through the week. Afternoon heat index values may reach 110 or higher by Wednesday through Friday, despite actual high temperatures generally holding near 100 to 102 degrees.
Limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day, drink plenty of water, and check on those most vulnerable to the heat.
