A few lingering showers or thunderstorms may drift across the Dallas-Fort Worth area this evening, but coverage will remain limited. Most of the Metroplex turns quiet overnight under mostly cloudy skies, with warm and humid lows in the mid-70s.
Friday brings a partly sunny and muggy day, with highs reaching the lower 90s. Rain chances look low across DFW, although a stray shower cannot be completely ruled out north and west of the city. South winds will stay light.
The weekend turns hotter and sunnier, with highs climbing into the mid-90s Saturday and Sunday. By Monday, temperatures reach the upper 90s, followed by near-100-degree heat Tuesday and Wednesday. Afternoon heat index values could approach 105 degrees, especially across the eastern Metroplex.
Plan ahead for the building heat next week, and limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the afternoon.
