Today’s DFW Forecast

North Texas stays locked in a classic July pattern for the holiday weekend. For the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex today, expect plenty of sunshine, light south winds, and afternoon highs climbing into the upper 90s. A stray pop-up shower or storm can’t be ruled out late today, but most neighborhoods will stay dry.

Tonight looks quiet with a mostly clear to partly cloudy sky and warm overnight lows in the upper 70s. It will be a muggy night, so don’t expect much relief from the heat after sunset.

Tomorrow brings more of the same heat, with highs again in the upper 90s, but rain chances do tick up a bit during the afternoon. A few isolated thunderstorms may develop around the Metroplex, and while coverage stays spotty, any storm that forms could bring brief downpours and lightning.

Looking ahead, this hot pattern continues into next week with highs in the upper 90s and heat index values pushing near 105 by midweek.

Use extra caution if you’ll be outdoors for long stretches this afternoon and again tomorrow.
