A classic late-June pattern is settling over the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Today will be sunny and hot, with afternoon highs mainly in the mid to upper 90s. South winds will pick up through the day, running around 15 to 20 mph with a few higher gusts, especially across western and northern parts of the Metroplex.
Tonight stays warm and mostly clear, with temperatures only falling into the upper 70s. The breeze won’t completely shut off, so it will remain muggy overnight.
Tomorrow looks even hotter with full sun and highs pushing the upper 90s area-wide. South winds will stay gusty during the afternoon, and the heat index may climb to around 105 at times. That means it will feel hotter than the thermometer shows, especially during the mid to late afternoon.
The bigger picture through the coming week is simple: lots of sunshine, no rain concerns, and a gradual build in heat with several spots nearing 100 by mid to late week.
Heat will be the main impact, especially Sunday and into next week as feels-like temperatures climb above 100.
