Tonight’s DFW Forecast

A quiet summer night is ahead for the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Skies will be mostly clear this evening, with a few more clouds drifting in overnight. Temperatures will only fall into the mid to upper 70s, so it will stay warm and a bit muggy through daybreak.

Friday looks mainly sunny and hotter, with afternoon highs climbing into the mid 90s across DFW. South winds will pick up during the day and become a little breezy by afternoon, but rain chances stay very low for the Metroplex.

The weekend brings a steady climb in the heat. Expect upper 90s Saturday, with gusty south winds at times, then upper 90s to near 100 by Sunday and early next week. Heat index values will likely push up to around 105 during the afternoons, especially from Sunday through Wednesday. Skies stay mostly sunny with little if any rain in the forecast, so the bigger story is the building heat rather than storm chances.

The main impact through early next week will be prolonged afternoon heat, with hot days and warm nights limiting overnight relief.
