North Texas stays quiet and summerlike today, with plenty of sunshine across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Afternoon highs will climb into the mid 90s for most of DFW, with a steady south breeze increasing to around 10 to 15 mph later today. It’ll be a hot afternoon, but overall a fairly typical late-June day with no rain or storm concerns.
Tonight remains warm and muggy. Skies will be mostly clear early, then a few more clouds may drift in overnight. Temperatures will only fall into the upper 70s across much of the Metroplex, with a persistent south wind keeping things from cooling off much.
Tomorrow brings more of the same, with mostly sunny skies and highs again in the mid 90s. The south wind will pick up a bit more by afternoon, occasionally gusty at times, and the humidity will start to become more noticeable heading into the weekend.
Looking ahead, the bigger story is building heat this weekend into early next week, with highs nearing 100 and heat index values pushing 105 or higher.
