North Texas stays hot and fairly quiet today across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Expect a mostly sunny sky with afternoon highs climbing into the mid 90s, along with a light south breeze. It’ll feel like a typical June day, warm but not extreme.
Tonight stays muggy with temperatures only falling into the upper 70s. Most of the Metroplex should remain dry, but a few late-night showers or thunderstorms may try to develop north and northeast of Dallas-Fort Worth toward daybreak.
Tomorrow brings a better chance for rain and storms as a front approaches. We’ll start with some sunshine, then scattered thunderstorms become more likely from late morning into the afternoon and evening. Highs should top out near 90 before cooler air begins filtering in, and some spots may fall back into the 80s later in the day. Rain chances remain high Sunday night, with more showers and storms lingering into Monday morning before a cooler start to next week.
If you have outdoor plans Sunday, keep a close eye on the radar. A few storms could bring heavy downpours and lightning.
