North Texas stays unsettled tonight, but for the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex the trend is toward lighter, more scattered rain after sunset. A few showers and thunderstorms are still possible this evening, then rain becomes more spotty overnight with lows settling near 60.
Tomorrow looks gray, cool, and damp. Expect a mostly cloudy sky with off-and-on showers through the day, and a few rumbles of thunder can’t be ruled out. Afternoon highs will struggle in the mid 60s, which is well below late-April normals. Rain coverage increases again tomorrow night.
Friday is shaping up to be the wettest and coolest day of this stretch. Periods of rain are likely across DFW with a small thunder chance, brisk northeast winds, and highs stuck in the upper 50s. While the highest severe threat stays east and southeast of the Metroplex, some heavier pockets of rain could still create minor travel slowdowns.
The weekend turns much nicer with sunshine returning Saturday and Sunday, followed by a steady warm-up into the 70s, near 80 Monday, and the 80s by Tuesday and Wednesday.
Plan on a chilly, soggy end to the workweek, especially Friday.
