After a mostly cloudy start, the Metroplex should see a few breaks of sun this afternoon with highs climbing into the lower 80s. A few spotty showers and thunderstorms may pop up later today, but many neighborhoods will stay dry through daylight hours. Winds will pick up from the southeast at 10 to 15 mph.
Rain chances go up noticeably tonight, especially west of Dallas toward Fort Worth, Denton, and surrounding areas where showers become much more likely after midnight. Lows will settle into the mid to upper 60s, and a few thunderstorms may mix in overnight.
Sunday looks like the wetter day across North Texas. Expect mostly cloudy skies, periods of showers, and scattered thunderstorms through the day with highs closer to the upper 70s. South winds will stay breezy, and some pockets of heavier rain could create slower travel at times.
If you have outdoor plans late tonight or Sunday, keep the umbrella close and be ready for wet roads and occasional thunder.
