Rain is the main story across North Texas today as a cold front pushes through the Metroplex. Showers and scattered thunderstorms are likely this morning, with rain chances staying high through early afternoon. A few storms could produce brief heavy downpours, but widespread severe weather is not expected. Temperatures will likely peak early in the day in the low 70s, then slip into the lower 60s by late afternoon as north winds increase.
Tonight stays mostly cloudy with a few lingering showers or storms possible during the evening. Rain becomes more isolated after midnight. Lows will dip into the upper 40s to lower 50s with a cool north breeze.
Sunday brings a welcome break. Sunshine returns with lighter winds and afternoon highs back in the lower 70s.
