It’s a summer preview across North Texas today. Expect wall-to-wall sunshine with afternoon highs climbing into the lower 90s around Dallas–Fort Worth, and mid 90s west of the Metroplex. Gusty south winds at 10 to 20 mph will add to the warm feel, especially during the afternoon.
Tonight stays mostly clear and quiet, but a weak front will slip in after midnight. Lows will fall back into the upper 50s with winds turning north to northeast by daybreak.
Tomorrow brings a noticeable change. We’ll keep a mix of sun and clouds, but much cooler air settles in behind the front. Highs will only reach the mid to upper 70s across the Metroplex, nearly 15 degrees cooler than today, with a light northeast breeze.
After the brief cool-down, temperatures warm back into the 80s by Tuesday and near 90 again by midweek under plenty of sunshine.
With dry air and gusty winds today, elevated fire weather conditions will develop west of DFW. Avoid outdoor burning.
