Injuries from Tonight’s Storms in Denton County

At least one injury has been reported in Denton County following the severe storms that hit this evening.

  • Details of the Injury: One person was transported to Denton Presbyterian Hospital with critical injuries after storm damage at the Sanger/Denton North KOA campground (also known as McClain’s Longhorn RV Park) near I-35 and View Road in northern Denton County. The damage included overturned RVs and campers due to high winds and possible tornado rotation.
  • Other Storm Impacts in the Area (for context, no additional injuries noted):
    • A 45- to 50-foot hole in the roof of the Walmart Distribution Center in Sanger—no injuries reported there, and all employees were safely dismissed.
    • Northbound I-35E closed south of Sanger after three semi-trucks were overturned.
    • The Denton County Office of Emergency Management activated its Emergency Operations Center and deployed a mobile command center to support response efforts.
