From William Cole: A Flood Watch has been extended for the following counties in North Texas until 5:12 PM Saturday. Montague.

WHAT Flooding is possible. WHERE Red River near Terral. WHEN From late Wednesday night to Saturday afternoon. IMPACTS At 23.0 feet, Crop and range lands pecan groves and rural roads are affected. Agricultural levees begin to overtop when the river stages rise above 23 feet. Though not flooded some areas at the edge of the flood plain may be isolated by high water in side channels. Bottomlands near Charlie Texas begin to flood several hours before the crest reaches Terral Oklahoma with flooding reaching the Illinois bend area near Leon Oklahoma several hours later. ADDITIONAL DETAILS – At 1:00 PM Tuesday the stage was 17.9 feet. – Forecast Flood stage may be reached early Thursday morning. – Flood stage is 22.0 feet. – www.weather.gov/safety/flood

From William Cole: A Flood Watch has been expanded for the following counties in North Texas until 7:00 AM Thursday. Collin, Delta, Denton, Hopkins & Hunt.

WHAT Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. WHERE Portions of north central and northeast Texas, including the following counties, in north central Texas, Collin, Denton and Hunt. In northeast Texas, Delta and Hopkins. WHEN Through Thursday morning. IMPACTS Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. ADDITIONAL DETAILS – Rainfall totals of 1.5 to 3 inches, with isolated higher amounts up to 5 to 6 inches.

Weak points in agricultural levees may be overtopped. Though not flooded some low-lying areas near the river may be isolated by high water in side channels. Bottomlands near Charlie Texas begin to flood several hours before the crest approaches the Terral Oklahoma area. The flood crest reaches the Illinois bend area near Leon Oklahoma several hours later. ADDITIONAL DETAILS – At 10:00 AM Tuesday the stage was 18.4 feet. – Forecast Flood stage may be reached late Thursday morning. – Flood stage is 22.0 feet. – www.weather.gov/safety/flood
