The pre-summer North Texas heat wave continues this week with record or near record high temperatures, but as promised last week – heat relief is on the way this weekend. Temperatures whipsaw from the 90’s to upper 70’s by Saturday and 80’s to closeout your weekend on Sunday.

There is low chance of T-Storms before sunrise across the northwest parts of the forecast area. Gusty winds would be the primary threat.

There is a very low chance of a T-Storm late tonight northwest of a line from Eastland to Mineral Wells to Denton to Sherman.
Storms coming out of West Texas will track up into Oklahoma overnight. There is a slight chance the tail end of that activity could clip our far northwestern counties. It’s a 20% chance at best. Heavy rain and lightning would be possible.
