From William Cole: A Flood Watch has been issued for the following counties in North Texas until 9:00 AM Saturday. Bosque, Collin, Dallas, Delta, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Fannin, Hamilton, Henderson, Hill, Hood, Hopkins, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Lamar, Navarro, Rains, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant & Van Zandt.
WHAT Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. WHERE Portions of north central and northeast Texas, including the following counties, in north central Texas, Bosque, Collin, Comanche, Coryell, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Fannin, Hamilton, Hill, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Lampasas, McLennan, Mills, Navarro, Rockwall, Somervell and Tarrant. In northeast Texas, Delta, Henderson, Hopkins, Lamar, Rains and Van Zandt. WHEN From 7 PM this evening through Saturday morning. IMPACTS Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may also become flooded. Flood waters are difficult to see at night, so remember to turn around, don’t drown if encountering flooded roads. ADDITIONAL DETAILS – Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches. Isolated higher amounts up to 6 inches are possible, mainly south of I-20. Areas that received heavy rain earlier this week will also be more at- risk of flooding.
