Rain with Snow Today

It’s going to be a chilly and wet day across North Texas. Rain is likely for everyone. A few of us (mainly north of I-20) will see some snow as well. The air temperatures and ground temperatures will be above freezing so the impacts will be minimal. However, our northern and northwestern counites may still see 1″ – 3″ of brief accumulation. It will not last long, but may be enough to cause a few slick spots on some of the overpasses and bridges. Because of that concern the NWS has issued a winter weather advisory for those areas. In the Dallas – Fort Worth area proper – a dusting of snow is possible – mainly between 5 pm and 10 pm.

Mostly a cold rain through the afternoon hours.
Rain will transition over to snow on the back side of the system after 5 pm for the Dallas – Fort Worth Metroplex.
Brief snow accumulations are possible mainly in our northern and northwestern counties.
